About

In 2018 we turned a whole building into a video jukebox created by projecting specially made 30 second films in the four bay windows of the former Baker’s Oven.

Viewers in the square could select which tracks they’d like to appear on the building via the internet using their smartphones.

'Whose Hoose is This?' is major project for the town commissioned by The Stove Network for the Midsteeple Quarter project with support from Dumfries and Galloway Council.

The Midsteeple Quarter is a community-led initiative to breathe new life into Dumfries town centre by developing a section of the High Street as a live/work quarter.

When

Whose Hoose is This? opened on Wednesday 24th January at 6pm and ran until Saturday 28th April 2018

Location

Former Baker’s Oven building
137-139 High St (next to WHSmith)

Why have we done this?

Dumfries town centre was once home to a thriving community of thousands of people. Local people, groups and organisations are working towards breathing new life into the High Street by creating new housing above the shops and bring people back to live here. This project is part of that effort.
